Since 2022, the VDMD has been involved in the ERASMUS+ project

FEA-VEE (Fashion Earth Alliance – Vocational Excellence Education).

The project aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the fashion and textile industry and promote sustainable change in the sector with the goal of training a more qualified workforce with sustainability skills across Europe.

The project is aimed at SMEs in the fashion and textile industry, teachers, students and graduates.

The target of the transnational project is to inspire young people to pursue careers in the textile, clothing and fashion sector and to train skilled workers who meet the needs of these industries. The project also aims to contribute to the development of greener, circular and sustainable economic models in the textile, fashion and clothing industry.

From 26 to 31 October 2025, a study visit with 60 students from the six partner countries of the FEA-VEE project (Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Romania, Sweden and Spain) took place in Pforzheim at Burg Rabeneck. The event was organised and hosted by VDMD - Netzwerk für Mode . Textil . Interior . Accessoir . Design e.V. and its country partner ITKAM (Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany). The five-day study visit included visits to sustainably producing companies such as Klaus Modelle GmbH in Pforzheim and Trigema GmbH in Burladingen, the EMMA creative centre and jewellery museum in Pforzheim, as well as lectures and workshops.
