Task

All chambers and professional organisations work together at national level with academic and vocational training institutions to spread the idea of sustainability. The mix - industrialised western countries on the one hand, countries on the move on the other - makes it - Technological changes, especially digitalisation, and growing climate concerns require a new way of thinking, teaching and learning about design and manufacturing.

In this context, the education system needs to be updated and better interdisciplinary links need to be established between the design and textile industries. Green entrepreneurship and green skills are at the centre of the project.

Intended goal

Training materials and curricula for trainers/students will be developed based on research and in close consultation with stakeholders and practitioners involved in the issues at hand, targeting precisely these green development concerns and the preservation of the natural environment. This ensures that specific industry needs and concerns are accurately and appropriately identified and understood.

Any students, graduates, educators or young professionals in the fashion and textile industry who want to know more can participate.

The steering committee will also introduce equal opportunities clauses to ensure that all members of society apply and are included in the learning mechanisms of the project.

Objectives for implementation

1. contribute to attracting more young people into the fashion, textile and apparel industry, thus creating a new labour force

2. contribute to the development of greener, more circular and sustainable economic models in the fashion, textile and apparel sectors, as well as more ethical and fair trade value-centred economic models.

3. to create a reform pathway for green entrepreneurship on a broader scale, while strengthening entrepreneurship through start-ups and incubators and entrepreneurial skills.

Pathways to the goal

A) Targeting vocational education and training programmes to foster the right skills for the industry and to infuse existing and new workforce with the desirable economic values of sustainability.

B) Targeting SMEs in combination with education and training institutions to address skills imbalances or shortages in the labour market and to further develop SME practices in an environmentally sound manner.

The main objective of FEA-VEE

is to provide fashion and textile stakeholders wishing to improve their human resources with an innovative VET toolkit in 7 Work Packages, both through traditional material and as part of an innovative online platform, including transnational mobility of learners and staff.
